1.2 Voice and Speech Data
Orca uses speech recognition to help you practice pronunciation and speaking.
- Voice input is processed to evaluate pronunciation and provide feedback.
- Speech recognition is performed using on-device or platform-provided technologies where possible.
- We do not store raw voice recordings unless explicitly stated otherwise in the App.

When you use the App, we may automatically collect limited technical information, such as:

- Anonymous usage data (e.g., feature usage, crashes)
This data is used strictly to improve performance, stability, and user experience.

3. Text-to-Speech, Speech Recognition, and Audio
Orca uses the following technologies:
- Speech Recognition (via Expo / device APIs) to analyze spoken phrases
- Offline on-device Text-to-Speech (Piper TTS) to generate natural voice lessons
- Background music to enhance the learning experience
Key Privacy Notes
- Text-to-speech is generated on-device and does not require sending your data to external servers.
- Background audio does not collect or process personal data.
- Speech recognition is used only for learning features and not for identification purposes.
4. How We Share Information
We do not share your personal information with third parties except in the following limited cases:
- Service providers that help operate the App (e.g., hosting, analytics), under strict confidentiality agreements
- Legal requirements, if required by law or to protect the safety, rights, or property of users or others
All third parties are required to comply with applicable data protection laws.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:
- Secure storage and encrypted connections where applicable
